Pima County Economic & Tourism Development (Tucson, Arizona)
  • Assisted and developed a study for creating the best land use of area for entertainment, attractions and hospitality in Pima County, Arizona.  The complete studies and concept for Arizona Adventures Family Fun Park is now available on-line for potential developers and/or operators.
  • Colossal Cave Mountain Park performance evaluation conducted for presentation to the Pima County Board of Supervisors to take action on hiring a new management company.  (
  • Developed marketing programs for Crooked Tree Golf Course in Tucson, Arizona to help declining rounds of golf and revenues.

LIVE ON STAGE/MATT DAVENPORT PRODUCTIONS (Nashville, Tennessee):LIVE ON STAGE INC. owned by Matt Davenport of Matt Davenport Productions. From Artesia, New Mexico to Ventura, California and from Lake City, Florida to Lander, Wyoming, there are over 200 cities where Live On Stage presents some of the world’s best touring talent. The entertainment runs from classical to Americana and from pop to world fest.

Matt Davenport Productions is known in the entertainment industry for creating and providing the highest in quality entertainment. Some of his original works include Puttin On The Hits, 4 Score, American Rhapsody, Birth of the Beat, Ropin' the West, I Get a Kick Out of Cole and One Enchanted Evening. Many of his productions are award winners including The American Pride Show voted "Best on the Beach"' in Myrtle Beach, SC, Echo Hollow Jubilee, winner of the People's Choice Award in Branson, MO and American Jukebox, which helped garner the Best Shows Award at Williamsburg's Busch Gardens. Also, Country Tonite, another Matt Davenport Production, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee has won the "Best Country Show in America" Award in 2001 and 2002 from the CMAA.  Stone Communications focuses on developing sponsorships for the company's National Conference and all aspects of the touring shows in over 200 cities. (

National Corvette Museum - (Bowling Green, Kentucky) With the opening of this famous museum only one year, Stone was called in to handle some crisis management and to take over the management of the Corvette Museum.  He was responsible for the total success of the "turn around" and hiring of the current general manager.  He was acting general manager for nearly three years.  During that period the attendance increased nearly 20 percent, due to creative marketing initiatives. (

Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort - (Destin, Florida):
Located on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast, this 2,400-acre premier destination resort is between Pensacola and Panama City. Sandestin invites guests to enter its world of 30 charming village neighborhoods featuring rental condominiums, villas, town homes and a wide variety of luxury beach hotel accommodations.  In 1991-1993 Stone took over the management until a new buyer could be sought.  Stone Communications continued with support through public relations and marketing in developing new markets specifically related to golfing at the resort. (

GENERAL MOTORS - CHEVROLET DIVISION (Warren, Michigan):  From 1990 to 2002, Ed Stone was contracted to oversee and manage the corporate sponsorship and merchandising programs for the Chevrolet Motor Division in major theme parks and attractions throughout the United States.  In addition to the existing theme parks that were part of the sponsorship program, Stone advised, evaluated and sought other opportunities for positive merchandising and exposure for the Chevrolet Motor Division’s leisure industry marketing.

BENCHMARK GAMES, INC. (Hypoluxo, Florida):  Benchmark Games is one of the industry's leaders in the creation of exceptional, entertaining, high-profit Redemption Games and Self-Contained Merchandise Machines. As a company, they not only want to be the best at what they do, but they also want their customers to be completely thrilled with their games and their customer service.  Dedication to customers after the sale, excellent warranties on games, and rock-solid manufacturing process make Benchmark Games a sure-fire winner in the industry.  Stone Communications was the public relations agency for this outstanding company from 2009 - 2011.  (  

SEVIERVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (Sevierville, Tennessee):  Since September 1995 until 2001, Ed Stone was contracted to provide marketing services, communications services and tourism-development consultation for this growing Smoky Mountain tourist destination.  In addition to instituting the city’s creative and strategic campaigns, Stone was responsible for maintaining a base of demographic and psycho-graphical research and developing a series of corporate-sponsored special events throughout the year.  The city leaders called on Stone to highlight Sevierville’s unique character and to capitalize on the substantial number of tourists already drawn to the SmokyMountain region by the national park and by Sevierville’s highly-popular sister cities of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

DAYTONA BEACH AREA CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU (Daytona Beach, Florida):  Since 1993 until 2001, Stone was contracted to develop and organize media tours to the Daytona Beach area.  Productive travel writers and successful travel editors were selected to attend past tours and have generated articles of substantial publicity value for this area.  Several travel media-related meetings have been scheduled to visit the Daytona Beach area as a result of this assignment.

CYPRESS GARDENS (Winter Haven, Florida) and CENTRAL FLORIDA VISITORS & CONVENTION BUREAU (Bartow, Florida):  At the request of CypressGardens and Central Florida Visitors & Convention Bureau, Stone organized and participated in media tours to CypressGardens and the surrounding area.  From 1995 through 2001, qualified travel writers were brought into this beautiful garden park for the unveiling of their Wildlife Sculpture Series, Spring Lights Festival and other special events.  The writers also toured other Central Florida areas visiting many unique historical homes and natural settings for the writers’ use in publication sources.

METRO ATLANTA TOURIST ASSOCIATION (Marietta, Georgia):  Through his former agency, Ed represented this eight county area surrounding the Georgia capital city.  He conducted a five-day press tour for this group in 1999 and to date, we have generated nearly $250,000 worth of publicity and over 5 million in circulation.

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF AMUSEMENT PARKS AND ATTRACTIONS (IAAPA), (Alexandria, Virginia):  From 1996 until 2000, Ed Stone was contracted by IAAPA to provide sponsorship opportunities and coordinate the sales and marketing of the events surrounding its Annual Convention and Trade Show.  Sponsorship sales increased 43 percent for the first three years of this program.  Each year more than 25,000 attended the show with some 1,200 exhibitors.

MONTGOMERY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (Montgomery, Alabama):  Ed Stone was contracted to research and develop a five-year strategic development and marketing plan for this centrally located Southeastern community.  The plan included a complete inventory and evaluation of the existing and proposed attractions.  Creating a marketing plan that increases the number of tourists, improves the product offering and brings the hospitality community together was the emphasis of this project.  A consensus of the plan was given by the tourism and hospitality business.  This five-year plan is now being funded and implemented.

ST. PETERSBURG/CLEARWATER AREA CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU (St. Petersburg, Florida):  Ed conducted three-day marketing media tours to this west coast area of Florida.  Part of the tour included visiting the Central Florida and CypressGardens area.  Excellent placement was obtained as a result of these tours.

ASCENSION PARISH TOUIST COMMISSION (Sorrento, Louisiana):  Ed Stone was contracted to research and develop a five-year strategic development and marketing plan for this Parish located Northwest of New Orleans and just South of Baton Rouge.  The plan included a complete inventory and evaluation of the existing and proposed attractions.  Creating a marketing plan that increases the number of tourists, improves the product offering and brings the hospitality community together was the emphasis of this project.  A consensus of the plan was given to the tourism and hospitality business.  This five-year plan was funded and implemented.

WISCONSIN STATE FAIR PARK (West Allis/Milwaukee, Wisconsin):  This project determined the feasibility and viability of developing a year-round MarketPlace and attraction concept at the State Fair
Park site.  This proposed development will be funded by the private sector and the State of
Wisconsin.  Ed Stone’s involvement has been to provide marketing research, development  and sponsorship funding to this project.
