Time is very precious. So we make sure the time we spend attending meetings and supporting organizations not only benefits our business, but also has a positive impact on our travel industry.
 Ed spent much of his time in 2002 serving as Convention Chairman for the Society of American Travel Writers' convention in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Ed is the only person who has taught all twelve years at the Southeast Tourism Society's Marketing College. This one-week college is one of the travel industry's most prestigious educational programs. 
Since 1985, Ed has served on the board of trustees for the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation that conducts the annual Lowell Thomas Travel Writing Competition. This annual competition recognizes the very best in travel journalism in North America.
Ed recently served on the board of directors for the Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He continues serving on the board of directors for the Friends of Sequoyah Birthplace Museum in Vonore, Tennessee and has for the past 16 years. Ed also serves as a lifetime member of the board of directors of the Southeast Tourism Society.
